#NOMOREBULLSHIT: CHRISTOPHER JOHN CORNELL- JULY, 20TH 1964 - MAY, 17TH 2017: Dr. Cyril H. WECHT.

Nov, 30th/19

(RIVISED OCTOBER 2023)

There's been no truthful explanation for Chris Cornell's abrupt death. The ruling of suicide, along the information presented from the case, contains several discrepancies.

Highlighted primarily here are oddities with Forensic Pathologist Dr. Cyril H. Wecht's, M.D., J.D supposed brief statements on Chris's death.

"Dismissal of the official ruling. . ." is an independent, two part analyzation and breakdown that strongly conclude homicide as the actual cause of Chris's death.

Supporting medical documentations and the complete reports from Chris's case are available and referenced.

Comments and constructive criticisms are welcome from professionals and students of forensic pathology, criminology and Soundgarden fans abroad.

*NOTE* a brief conversation with Dr. Cyril H. Wecht.

Upon discovery of the inconsistences with Dr. Cyril Wecht's comments regarding Chris's death, I initially contacted Dr. Wecht via email on January, 26th/2021; expressed concern to the quotes attributed to him (The Detroit News (July, 21st/17) and a request to review "Dismissal of the official ruling. . . "

Dr. Wecht responded: (January, 27th/2021)

"I do not recall the Chris Cornell Case. Please send me what you are referring to along with your criticism.

Then on March, 3rd 2021, I sent a follow up email inquiring if he had gone over my analysis on Chris's death. Erroneously, I simply forwarded the link to "Dismissal of the official ruling. . ." (back in January 27th/2021) when he meant for a hard copy of my analysis.

Thus his response: (March, 5th 2021)

"I have not received any materials from you to review re Chris Cornell. I have no records or memory of this case."

Fast forward to November, 13th/2022, after erroneously sending Dr. Wecht the link to "Dismissal of the official ruling. . ." and not receiving a response, I reiterated in my email to him (Nov, 13th/2022) of who I was, the concerns with quotes attributed to him of Chris's death and what I published.

Dr. Wecht's response: (November 14th/2022)

"Aisha:"

"Please send me hard copy of the analysis that you want me to comment on."

With that, I mailed Dr. Wecht a hard copy of "Dismissal of the official ruling. . ."

in December 2022; slightly compressed and highlighted to what was most relevant for his review. May,21st 2023 was my final email to Dr. Wecht, following up whether or not he received the hard copy.

I've not received a response from Dr. Wecht since November, 14th/2022.

Additionally, his official website (cyrilwecht.com) had gone offline shortly after I mailed

in my hard copy of "Dismissal. . . ". His official website is where I obtained the address of his office.

Considering Dr. Wecht's responses to me (adding substance to this post) one or both parties, The Detroit News (July, 21st/17) and Dr. Wecht, have been deliberately untruthful.

There's also the possibility of Dr. Wecht's name used in the story without his knowledge, considering Dr. Wecht is (or was) an attorney with a likely schedule of endless priorities.

Another reasonable possibility of not hearing back from him since November, 14th/2022.

If forgery is the case, it's urgent Dr. Wecht is made aware of the stories published

in The Detroit News/2017.

Dr. Cyril H. Wecht: Against The Consensus.

Dr. Wecht publicly disagrees with the ruling of suicide of Jeffrey Epstein. (further and briefly explained here) Addionally, Dr. Wecht expressed criticisms of Kurt Cobain's ruling of suicide. . .

"I just think that it's a staged suicide is what I think that's the bottom line." - Wecht's appearance in the documentary "Soaked In Bleach". (2015)

Mortal Evidence. . .

Mortal Evidence and Tales from The Morgue. . . , are two of several books authored by Dr. Wecht. The following excerpts from Mortal Evidence are quite telling when Chris's post-mortem report is considered:

"Cyril H. Wecht, MD, JD, one of the world's leading forensic pathologists/lawyers takes the reader inside some of the nation's most bizarre and intriguing medico-legal investigations and shows how forensic scientists help to solve crimes and why they sometimes fail in their efforts"

"Dr. Wecht takes the reader inside some of the nation's most bizarre and intriguing medico-legal investigations and shows how forensic scientists help to solve crimes - and why they sometimes fail in their efforts. His vast experience and his willingness to take on the establishment if necessary and provide proof that runs counter to popular opinion make this book a page-turner." - Tales from The Morgue 2005.

". . . he doesn't shy away from challenging the accepted line of thought. He speaks his mind, whether it diverges from the popular opinion or not. I believe everyone benefits when a person like Cyril dares to say the emperor has no clothes." - Dr. Henry C. Lee, FORWARD page 8 of, MORTAL EVIDENCE: The Forensics Behind Nine Shocking Cases. 2003.

". . . a body provides clues that can help solve the mystery of not only how that person died, but also how long ago, and in some cases of murder, by whose hand. "Pinpoint bleeding" on the inside of an individual's lower eyelids can be a sign of strangulation. Frothy fluid in the lungs may suggest a drug overdose death in a young adult who shows no signs of heart disease. Those details are critical to a forensic pathologist as he tries to determine the circumstances surrounding a death. After all, the field of forensic pathology is focused on delving into deaths that are violent, suspicious, sudden, unexplained, unexpected, or medically unattended.

Much attention is paid to deaths that are violent or suspicious- which is the realm of homicide detectives, criminalists, coroners, and medical examiners. All of these professionals use forensic science to one degree or another to help solve cases. . ."

". . . Forensic pathologists- coroners and medical examiners- are the ones who tie it all together. They perform the autopsy, collect information from the other investigators, analyze it, and make a conclusion about the cause and manner of death. That is my profession. - Dr. Cyril H. Wecht, M.D., J.D., PREFACE page 11 & 12 of, MORTAL EVIDENCE The Forensics Behind Nine Shocking Cases. 2003.

BREIF: EERILY SIMILARITES TO THE 2011 DEATH & CASE OF ELLEN GREENBERG.

In Manayunk, Philadelphia back in 2011, a young woman named Ellen Rae Greenberg was found

dead with 20 stab wounds inflicted on her body, 10 of them to the back of her head.

Oddly, the Philadelphia authorities, including the medical examiner, have ruled Ellen's death as a suicide. Additionally, Ellen's case shares a prime similar detail to Chris's case of a "latched door kicked in from the outside."

Ellen was "discovered" deceased on the kitchen floor by her fiancée.

Investigators and forensic pathologists (outside from Ellen's case) are referenced to have reviewed the detail's from her case, "Reviewing the file and the crime scene photographs and the medical examiner’s photographs, I don’t know how you come to that conclusion (of suicide)," - Guy D’Andrea, a former homicide prosecutor

Notably Dr. Cyril Wecht, as with his comments from Epstein's and Cobain's death, also strongly disagrees with the medical examiner's ruling of suicide.

Several forensic pathologists, including Dr. Cyril Wecht, one of the country’s leading experts in the field, reviewed Dr. Osbourne’s findings over the years and found the circumstances "strongly suspicious of homicide."

"In all my years of experience, and all of the homicides that I’ve done, and suicides, I’ve never seen anything like this," - Dr. Cyril Wecht.

Ellen's parents continue on a legal battle to reclassify the suicidal ruling of the medical examiner who, as with the medical examiner Theodore Brown in Chris's case, was an assistant.

Personally, there's no doubt Ellen's family will uncover the truth on what actually happened to Ellen in January 2011.

*Condolences to Ellen's family and the absolute best in their quest for justice.

Dr. Cyril H. Wecht: Assertions on "homicidal strangulation . . ."

Chris Cornell's death was publicly ruled a "suicidal hanging" despite the fact Chris endured several bodily injuries, a clean toxicology report to follow. Chris ended up with serious external and internal injuries more so than Jeffrey Epstein; a high profile convicted sex offender.

Seemingly, the majority of the public and medical professionals, including Dr. Wecht, greatly suspect Epstein's death was of foul play.

Personally, I did not want to correlate Chris Cornell to Jeffrey Epstein, due to the circulating theories of Chris's involvement to "expose sex trafficking rings."

*While I acknowledge that the theory of Chris's philanthropy or activism may have eventually lead to his death, the continuous notion that Chris engaged himself heavily in vigilantism, "readily to expose corrupted elites," holds no strong evidence for nor will I entertain.*

But it's with most certainty circumstantially, medically, physically and forensically, that Christopher John Cornell's death was not by suicide.

With the circumstances of Jeffrey Epstein's death highly questioned, in addition to the sake of factual information and transparency from medical professionals, it's pivotal an objective review needs to take place for the post-mortem report of Chris Cornell.

In this interview with NEXUS EXTRA, Dr. Wecht reviews and makes references to the findings of Epstein's post-mortem report.

Dr. Wecht concludes that homicidal strangulation was the actual cause of Epstein's death.

Dr. Cyril H. Wecht: Oddities within The Detroit News.

Dr. Wecht's appearance within The Detroit News (July, 21st/17) featured only twice and quoted briefly, are highly suspect.

From the factual information contradicting Chris's death as a suicidal hanging, how could Dr. Wecht be the same medical doctor, supposedly in favour Chris's "official ruling of death," also strongly oppose Epstein's death ruled as a suicidal hanging after reviewing Epstein's autopsy report?

DR. WECHT'S SUPPOSED COMMENTS REGARDING CHRIS CORNELL'S DEATH:

“Maybe somebody spoke too soon; it happens,”said longtime pathologist Cyril Wecht, former medical examiner of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and chairman of the American Board of Legal Medicine board of trustees.“If the head wound is not written up in the report or the autopsy, there’s your answer,” Wecht said. “It was most likely a simple mistake by the EMT.”Wecht has been consulted in a number of high-profile deaths, most famously as the first civilian allowed to examine evidence at the National Archives on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The pathologist testified in 1978 before the House Select Committee on Assassinations that he disagreed with the Warren Commission’s finding that a single bullet killed Kennedy. “With my work on JFK, I’m not one to dismiss conspiracies just because they don’t match the official story,”said Wecht, a former president of the American Academy of Forensic Science.“But for someone to have paid off both the investigator and pathologist to omit a head wound from their reports … I don’t think even the CIA could do that.” - The Detroit News published July, 21st/17 - Regarding the omitted head injury in Chris's post-mortem report.

and

Q.: Why did the medic say there were “signs of strangulation” as heard on the police scanner?

A.: (DR. WECHT SUPPOSEDLY) In medicine, the term strangulation isn’t referring to a homicidal act, said pathologist Cyril Wecht, former medical examiner of Allegheny County, Penn., and chairman of the American Board of Legal Medicine board of trustees. It denotes a medical condition in which blood flow to part of the body is cut off, he said.“You can strangle yourself,” he said. “When people hear ‘strangulation,’ they automatically think it’s a homicide, but that’s not necessarily the case.”

Q.: Why was there so much blood splattered near the body?

A.: (DR. WECHT SUPPOSEDLY) “In a hanging, the body continues to function, and the heart continues pumping blood,” Wecht said. “Blood vessels become engorged, and they burst. Some blood comes out from the airway, on up through the windpipe, into the mouth, and blood can come out your nose.“Have you ever had someone tell a joke and you spit your drink all over? Well, that’s what often happens with hangings, and when it does you’ll get blood splatters.” - The Detroit News, (Police: DNA not sent to lab in Cornell death) published July, 21st/17.

SUBSTANTIAL FACTS: Contradictions to Dr. Wecht's statements.

The segments of Dr. Wecht's supposed answers of the Q&A in relation to Chris's death, (The Detroit News, Police: DNA not sent to lab in Cornell death July, 21st/17) are heavily contradicted by substantial facts within forensic pathology.

The observable occurrences and what they indicate after a person dies from the condition of physical asphyxia, particularly asphyxia caused by a ligature.

For the terms "asphyxia", "strangulation" and "hanging" in the fields of medicine, forensic pathology and criminology.

Dr. Wecht's supposed answer to the question Why did the medic say there were “signs of strangulation” . . . by asserting that "strangulation" isn’t referring to a homicidal act, and It denotes a medical condition in which blood flow to part of the body is cut off, is factually incorrect.

Physical or mechanical asphyxia refers to force or an object keeping one from breathing. Strangulation is one of several causes of asphyxiation. - What is Asphyxia?

Asphyxia - "a condition in which insufficient or no oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged on a ventilatory basis. . . " - https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/asphyxia

Strangulation is one of several causes of the condition of asphyxia.

Dr. Wecht continues asserting erroneously that the term "strangulation" means “You can strangle yourself,” and “When people hear ‘strangulation,’ they automatically think it’s a homicide, but that’s not necessarily the case.”

In the context of death by asphyxiation (the condition) with a ligature (the cause/object) generally, "strangulation" would indicate a homicidal act whereas a "hanging" death would indicate a suicidal act.

If one were to say "he strangled himself", the statement would likely communicate one's death was due to an accident. On the contrary, "he hanged himself" always indicates one's death was self inflicted.

“signs of strangulation" audibly from the first responder on scene who observed Chris, noted the ligature pattern to be caused by "a constricting band tightened by a force other than the body weight. . . "

To listen to the audio of the first responder, refer to Dismissal of the Official Ruling part 2. . . under Medic’s Remarks to 911 Dispatch. (Detroit Police scanner)

Physical differences occur with the ligature patterns from "hanging" and "strangulation" deaths.

Refer to Dismissal of the Official Ruling part 1. . . under "The Ligature Furrow Mark" for a detailed analysis in Chris's case.

ABOUT STRANGULATION & HANGING: Language Matters - "some language issues that have implications on mechanisms of death and pathophysiological concepts. Firstly, strangulation should not be used as a synonym for hanging. Strangulation is defined as asphyxia by closure of the blood vessels and/ or air passages of the neck as a result of external pressure on the neck."

"It is subdivided into three main categories: hanging, ligature strangulation and manual strangulation. The distinction between these three entities is attributed to the cause of the external pressure on the neck — either a constricting band tightened by the gravitational weight of the body or part of the body (hanging); a constricting band tightened by a force other than the body weight (ligature strangulation); or an external pressure by hands, forearms or other limbs (manual strangulation)."

The Falsehood of "blood" and "blood splatter" at a hanging:

Dr. Wecht's erroneous claim of blood at the scene of a hanging, “In a hanging, the body continues to function, and the heart continues pumping blood,” “Blood vessels become engorged, and they burst. Some blood comes out from the airway, on up through the windpipe, into the mouth, and blood can come out your nose. . . "

How is it that Some blood comes out from the airway, on up through the windpipe, into the mouth, and blood can come out your nose. . . " while in a hanging or during strangulation, the ligature (the cause/object) is the physical force keeping one from breathing?

". . . no oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged on a ventilatory basis. . . https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/asphyxia

In a similar example, a twisted hose would keep water clogged from the point of compression, restricting the water flow to the hose head.

The presence of blood, particularity the blood present in Chris's case, doesn't occur as a result of a suicidal hanging.

"Saliva may be found dribbling from the angle of the mouth when the head is drooping forward. This is due to the increased salivation before death due to the stimulation of the salivary glands by the ligature. "Slight hemorrhage or bloody froth is sometimes seen at the mouth and nostrils, and some blood may be found under the head. This results from rupture of engorged blood vessels, and should not be mistaken for evidence of foul play."

- ForensicPathologyOnline/Hanging: under "Other Signs". WARNING: graphic images.

“It’s very unlikely such large amount of blood found in a case of hanging,” Dinesh Rao, a forensic pathologist who has conducted more than 12,000 autopsies, told International Business Times in an email.“…I would like to state at this moment that in partial hangings or [in] incomplete hangings, signs of congestion are common and sometimes we see ruptures of blood vessels as a reason for hemorrhage,” the doctor explained. “This needs to [be] confirmed during [an] autopsy by ruling out trauma as the source.” - INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS TIMES. Published July,14th/17.

Refer to Dismissal of the Official Ruling part 2. . . under, "The Blood on Scene" for a detailed examination and the likely conclusion of blunt force trauma.

Dr. Wecht also falsely asserts the splatters of blood at the scene of a hanging with, “Have you ever had someone tell a joke and you spit your drink all over? Well, that’s what often happens with hangings, and when it does you’ll get blood splatters.”

Again, in a hanging or from strangulation, the neck is compressed partially or fully circumferentially with extreme force that restricts the victim from breathing. (asphyxia)

How is a victim of asphyxia, whether hanging or being strangled, able to "exhale" at the same moment of extreme compression of the neck?

Laughing causes us to exhale, which means that the soft palate and uvula drop into their breathing position. So if you laugh while drinking, the liquid shoots up into your unsealed nasal passage and out your nostrils. - Blowing Milk Out Of Your Nose.

Factually, blood splatters occur as a result of force.

Chris, with most certainty, endured blunt force trauma.

. . . Spatters are produced when a source of liquid blood is acted upon by an external force. The blood droplets, created by the force, travel through the air before landing on a target surface.

Refer to Dismissal of the Official Ruling part 2. . . under, "The Blood Spatter: An Altercation" for a detailed analysis of the blood spatter in Chris's case.

DR. WECHT'S SUPPOSED COMMENTS ON "THE DRUGS":

"A good lab would have screened for that if the bottle was found at the scene.“Every lab differs, and that drug doesn’t usually result in acute death by itself,” Wecht said. “But it can cause medical problems, and in a complete toxicology screen, you’d want to include that if they knew there was a bottle at the scene.”

Dr. Nora Volkow, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, who appeared on “Good Morning America” in February to discuss Chris Cornell’s death, said: “It is very likely had he not been under the influence of these drugs, he would have never done such an act that cost him his life.”

But Wecht counters that “it’s not unreasonable to assume Ativan may have contributed to the death, but I don’t disagree with the medical examiner here. As a matter of scientific proof, you can’t know for sure whether taking the drug actually caused the death. So I wouldn’t list it as a cause of death.” - The Detroit News, published May, 15th/2018.

The Drug Fueled Narrative.

Within the Medical Examiner's Case Registration Summary, page 18 (under Office of the Wayne County Medical Examiners: Case Registration Summary/OBSERVATIONS OF THE SCENE. ) it states,

"There are prescription bottles for Omeprazole and Prednisone prescribed to the deceased. I did not observe any other medications, illicit substances, alcohol or tobacco products at the scene."

"Ativan" was not present at the scene.

This strongly indicates Chris did not have "Ativan" in his possession on the night of his death.

However, here's a photograph that was released to the public of a bottle of "lorazepam", the image taken with a shallow depth of field and scanned/printed in black & white.

Seemingly, the photograph was not taken at the MGM unlike the bottles of Omeprazole and Prednisone.

Additionally, the lorazepam was provided from a separate location (CVS pharmacy 231 N. GRAHAM STREET Charlotte, North Carolina) as opposed to the Omeprazole and Prednisone (Walgreens Pharmacy 1011 ALTON RD, Miami Beach, Florida)

In photography, a "shallow depth of field" is when a picture is taken with the background and foreground blurred.

The Omeprazole and Prednisone (Walgreens Pharmacy 1011 ALTON RD, Miami Beach, Florida) are clearly shown in colour with the location of where two bottles were photographed. (MGM Grand Hotel)

Details to Review Outside Chris's Post-Mortem Report:

Head Injury.

Chris indeed suffered a head injury on the night his death, the wound visible in photos, video and mentioned audibly from the first responder, ". . . trauma to the back of the head."

(Refer to Dismissal of the Official Ruling part 2. . . under Medic’s Remarks to 911 Dispatch. (Detroit Police scanner)

Additionally, Angela Anderson-Cobb’s (MEO Investigator) statement: “Stains of suspected blood are present on his face and on the floor next to and beneath his head”

(Refer to . . . Oddities Within The Case. . . under Office of the Wayne County Medical Examiners: Case Registration Summary/OBSERVATIONS OF THE SCENE.

The head injury Chris endured on the night of his death was not mentioned by his bandmates, Vicky, nor the press in the year of his death.

Prior to the Detroit News and Alternative Nation mentioning Chris's head injury in 2018, but dismissed the wound as a "bald spot", was an exchange (witnesses personally in real time) Vicky had a with a friend of mine and author Renee S. DeCamillis on March, 1st 2018.

Vicky responds to Renee with, "Yes it could have and most certainly exacerbated all the symptoms."

Then on May, 15th/18 within the Detroit News, Vicky mentions DMCare Express, the Detroit ambulance company, had written up a patient care report.

I retrieved the scanned image of the report from this channel I knew of and spoke with the uploader, and inquired whom granted her the scanned partial report.

The uploader mentioned it to be Vicky. Additionally, the date she uploaded her video with the patient care report was on June, 18th/18.

The top right hand corner shows the date of July, 14th 2017, seemingly when the document was printed. *This strongly indicates Vicky's knowledge of Chris's head injury before her exchange with Renee on March, 1st/2018.*

What stood out in nearly every article in the wake of Chris's death were the timelines, dates and claims solely made by Vicky.

Criticisms regarding Chris's head injury not mentioned in the post-mortem report:

Ambiguity and Deceit:

Dr. Cyril H. Wecht, nor any other professional in forensic pathology (additionally with no reviews of Chris's post-mortem report) appeared on television nor audibly offered any scientific explanation for Chris's death as a legitimate suicidal hanging.

To reiterate, what the public was given were ambiguous and deceitful statements, supposedly from Dr. Wecht, with Chris's "hanging" death and erroneous explanations of the large amounts of blood present at the scene.

With criticisms presented in one of my posts, possible forgery is highly suspect of another doctor's name. Refer under "DR. RICHARD J. COTE" (Oddities)

Why has this doctor's statements changed three times in three months?

"They were not at levels that would’ve caused his death; in other words, it wasn’t an overdose," Cote said. "But what the two drugs did individually and in combination was to really impair his judgment and make him psychically unable to be responsive in ways that he normally would be responsive." Published Feb, 21/18.

“There is clear evidence of drug ingestion leading to impaired behavior. The drugs that were found, and their levels, strongly indicate doses that would impair mental and motor function individually, but have much more powerful effects when found in combination.” Published April,13/18.

“Mr. Cornell had drug levels that would cause significant motor and mental impairment, and that the combination of drugs found in Mr. Cornell’s system have synergistic depressant activity which would impair judgment, cloud intention, impair motor coordination, and inhibit the ability to physically respond to danger,” Cote wrote in his three-page report. Published May,15/18.

After reading Dr. Cote's statements and personally contacting him (March, 31st/18) with no response, in addition to the forensics, ("Dismissal of the Official Ruling". . . ) it's with great certainty Dr. Cote's assertions (quoted above in the articles) were concocted or did not come from an actual medical professional.

Also, there's been no strong evidence that suggests Chris was abusing prescription drugs during the last years of his life, nor take his own life by choice. It's also worth repeating time and time again that to this day, Chris's bandmates have not confirmed nor denied the claims solely from Vicky of Chris's alleged relapse.

The fact that Vicky retrieved an alleged email 9 months after Chris passed, an alleged email supposedly sent by Chris to a colleague "admitting he'd relapsed" is, in all fairness, ridiculous.

The mysterious recipient of Chris's alleged email has never come forward.

Lastly, a supposed suicide note from an alleged fan's father on the "dangers of Ativan" is also absurd.

Possibly administered "butalbital" without his knowledge. . . (Butalbital noted in Chris's post-mortem report)

Refer to Dismissal of the Official Ruling part 1. . . under UNKNOWINGLY ADMINISTERED A SEDATIVE: (BUTALBITAL/BARBITURATES) A POSSIBILITY.

There were two points of noticeable deterioration with Chris during his last performance of "Outshined" and "Slaves & Bulldozers." Those who were at the show but say nothing was amiss with Chris, consider a second, third or forth observation. Not every shred of detail will be evident in one night.

Observing closely of Chris's performance during "Outshined," right before verse two, it appears Chris attempts to "stay awake,' fighting off whatever was signaling his body to collapse.

Observe the gif where I've narrowed down the exact moment Chris nearly faints.

As always, come to your own conclusion.

Unofficial Anatomical Sketches.

After the release of Chris's autopsy report, I drew four anatomical representations of the ligature furrow mark, notably uneven, based off the descriptions noted by assistant Medical Examiner Theodore Brown M.D..

The notes from the medical examiner of the ligature furrow mark are not consistent with a suicidal hanging.
